JOIN US FOR THE 'WAGS 'N WINE' EVENING in support of PAWS R US (SA) and our rescue orphans!
On SATURDAY EVENING 6 JUNE 2015, as winter stretches her long fingers into June, come and cosy up at the CLAY OVEN in Douglasdale, JHB and enjoy a lovely evening of fine wine-tasting and sumptuous food! This quaint little restaurant prides itself in personal attention and a memorable meal experience.
Tickets are R200 pp all inclusive. This covers the sampling of 4 different wines as part of the wine-tasting experience, as well as a soup starter with rolls, and a choice of 4 delectable main meals (these will include a vegetarian and vegan option).
The evening will be hosted by the PAWS R US (SA) team in conjunction with the WINE-TASTING MASTER !!
The event will be rounded up with a series of raffle prizes - ranging from small tokens of appreciation through to a professional photo shoot by Olivia Sterling, and original artwork from Russell Potgieter
NOTE: We are aiming at filling 50 seats in order to raise much needed funds! The event starts from 18h30 onwards.

The Village Green Garden Fair
PAWS R US (SA) in partnership with THE VILLAGE GREEN EMPORIUM (formerly known as "The Old Pot Place") invites all animal lovers to a GARDEN FAIR on SATURDAY 25 APRIL from 10h00 to 18h00.
The GARDEN FAIR will revolve around 30 quality and organic produce FARM STALLS, and will also include a super-cool KIDDIES PLAYZONE and PAINTBALL facility. A variety of yummy refreshments will be available via the COFFEE SHOP and BAR on site, with a BIG-SCREEN TV making sure that no visitors miss out on the sport. There are a number of other interesting shops on site for your shopping/browsing pleasure smile emoticon
Most important of all - ALL PROCEEDS RAISED WILL GO TOWARDS PAWS R US (SA) - a registered NON-PROFIT COMPANY focusing on the rescue and re-homing of stray, abandoned and unwanted dogs.
There will be enough PARKING available on the day, and you will find THE GARDEN FAIR at THE VILLAGE GREEN EMPORIUM (formerly known as "The Old Pot Place") on the corner of Witkoppen and Church Streets, Randburg from 10h00 through to 18h00 on SATURDAY 25 APRIL 2015.
THIS IS THE PERFECT FAMILY OUTING and the ideal way to spend the last days of autumn! PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD and invite others to come along with you. We have included 4 different invitations that you can use for your networking effort. Every visitor that passes through the doors and enjoys the fair and all its great produce, makes a direct contribution towards innocent lives.

2. Old duvet inners and continental pillows (both foam, not feather)
3. A team of builders who would be prepared to help lay a concrete slab at our rescue kennel premises - the size of the concrete slab would be 2x3m. This slab will be the new location for a Wendy house/container (i.e. our new kitchen area)
4. A hardy, weather and rat-proof Wendy house or metal shipping container - in terms of height, an adult must be able to stand upright inside.

PAWS R US (South Africa) launches the "HUMAN WALKING EVENT" concept in JHB, South Africa. Borrowing the concept from a Melbourne-based rescue organisation, PAWS R US gives it a local SA flavour and helps get office-workers out of their corporate "cages" and out walking rescue dogs :) Who says rescue dogs cant rescue humans?
The launch of the 1st HUMAN WALKING EVENT took place on 28 AUGUST 2014 at THE CAMPUS - a Dimension Data premises in Bryanston, JHB. Between 10h00 and 14h00, a steady stream of employees from various companies on the premises came down to THE OVAL to meet the PAWS R US rescue dogs.
The HUMAN WALKING EVENT has a few different objectives:
a) to raise awareness regarding companion animal rescue and the need to ADOPT from shelters rather than buying from pet shops or breeding
b) providing educational awareness around a series of stereotypes, myths and misperceptions (e.g. breed discrimination; implications of not sterilizing animals etc);
c) giving exposure to rescue dogs so that they have a better chance of finding forever homes; and
d) providing a useful fundraising and networking opportunity.

THANK YOU to all the wonderful gals who came out to support the PAWS R US LADIES NIGHT event!
The proceeds raised from the ticket and raffle sales came to total of about R 9000 and this will be used towards the PAWS R US kenneling bill which is proving to be a runaway train at the moment. Special thanks to Devon from SMUGGLERS PUB in Northriding, for allowing us to use the venue, and for donating a raffle prize. Our thanks also goes to JOE PARKER from Parkers Comedy Club in Monte-Casino, for getting the evening started on a great note! We were fortunate to be blessed with mini stalls from PURE ROMANCE, SOOO ME and D.G.B. with Douglas Green Wines. Thank you to all the fantastic supporters who stepped up to donate prizes towards the raffles.
It was a great evening out - and despite being a mid-week eve, the ladies were in wonderful, giving spirits!
